Q: What is an Audio walk |
| A: An Audio wlak is a digital audio tour, and an alternate way to experience the city. The tour is a collection of audio files, which can be downloaded onto your computer, MP3 player, iPod, or mobile phone, and then later played as your guide around the city. You yourself decide the tour route and when to holds breaks; you can even return to the tour another day. The selection of audio tours have a various theme, such as a tour of a certain area or a tour which aims to provide you with alternate experiences of the city. Though, what all tours have in common is that they put you in charge of the tour in terms of when and how. Read more about the specific tours here. |
Q: How do I find an Audio walk that suits me? |
| A: At the moment, there are a limited number of tours available. The tour program for 2008 will provide alternate tour- types, audiences, themes, and lengths. When you click on the link "Tours" in the top menu you will see a list of the current tours. You will also see a short description of the walk. First and foremost you should figure out which of the tours is best suited to your time in the city and interests. Some of the tours are firmly based in the history of the city, whilst others are oriented towards modern Copenhagen. Please bear in mind that some of the stops on the tours are also a part of the other available tours, and that all of the tours have varying lengths. With these considerations in mind, it should be very easy for you to find a tour that matches your interests and requirements. Remember - you can walk the tour at your own pace, which means you can do a longer tour over several days. It is all up to you! |
Q: Why do I have to create an account when I just want to buy an Audiowalk? |
| A: The most important reason why you have to create a user account is to give you the possibility to come back and download the tour again if something goes wrong during the download process. We have minimized the required information on the online forms, so that you can quickly get through this step. The only required information we need about you is your name, e-mail address, what country you are from, and a password of you own choice. After an account has been created and the tour payment process completed, you can download the purchased audio tour three times and up to three days after your initial purchase. |
Q: How do I pay for my Audio tour? |
| A: You can pay for the Audio tour by credit card (Visa, Mastercard or Maestro). The actual transaction is taken care off by “FRIbetaling” and “PBS Denmark” systems, which is your guarantee for a secure payment on the Internet. You will also receive a receipt of you purchase on the E-mail which you provided. |
Q: How do I get hold of my Audio walk and what are my rights? |
| A: The product is delivered immediately due to the fact that the tours are digital. Therefore, there is no need for a physical delivery address. As soon as the payment has been processed, you can download the tour to your Computer, or directly to your digital audio player. Since the product is a digital file for download, and the delivery happens immediately, you have no return rights on your purchase. You can read more about your rights here. If you are not satisfied with the product or if you in any other way need help, please contact us and we will do our utmost to help you solve the issue. |
Q: How do I play my Audio walk/s? |
| A: You can play your Audio walk directly from your computer if you have an "audio out" socket and a couple of speakers connected to it. However, that is probably not very exciting, unless you are thinking about dragging your computer with you around town. There are numerous digital players on the market made specificaly for mobilising your digital audio files (carrying sound around). Most of them are Mp3 players (iPod, Creative Zen, Zune etc.) and mobile phones. If you really want to take full advantage of your Audio walk we recommend that you transfer the mp3 file to your mobile digital mp3 player. Please refer to instructions on your specific player regarding how to transfer the file from your computer to the player and how to play the tour. |
Q: What format are the Audio walks? |
| A: All Audio walks are downloadable in mp3 format. Each Audio walk consists of several files, each file being a tour stop, which makes it easier for you to skip between the stops, rewind, pause, or even restart the tour stop from the beginning if needed. The tour is packaged in a zip file for ease of download. The map for the tour is also included in the zip file, but you can always download the map again, free of charge, from our maps page |
Q: How do I find my way around the city when I am using my Audio walk? |
| A: We have made some maps for you to use when "walking" your way across town. Of course, there is also a specific tour map dedicated to each Audio walk. The map is a part of the tour download. On the map you will find all the stops of your tour and a suggested scenic route has also been drawn in on each map. However, this route is only a suggestion, and the tour will probably be even more exciting if you explore the city and the streets on your own. It will be easier to see the different markings on the map if you print the map on a color printer on A4 paper (standard printing paper). You are more than welcome to download some of the other maps in our maps section if you find them interesting! |
Q: Is there anything I must remember when I go on my Audio walk? |
A: In our opinion, the most important part is talking your time to discover the city. Do it at your own pace and in the way that suits you best. There is no problem in following your own route from stop to stop if you see things that catches your interest. You can also do most of the Audio walk stops in a different order (if not stated otherwise) or even do the tour over the duration of several days. Apart from that it is recommended to dress accordingly to the time of year and to take the weather into account, and make sure that the places you want to visit along the tour are open. The majority of the tour stops can be experienced "from the outside" and thus are open 24/7. Only very few stops will close for the night (usually this is around 22:00.) Last but not least we recommend not to walk around while playing the stop due to the hazards of traffic - cars and bicycles can be hazardrous in the city. We recommend that you to find a quiet place, close to the mark on the map for an optimal experience. Enjoy! |
